OpenDocxFile is a free tool for opening Word files in your browser. You pick a DOCX file and read it right away. You don’t need Microsoft Word, an account or an upload.
Why we built it
Most people who search for a way to open a DOCX file just want to read it. Maybe it came by email. Maybe you’re on a phone, or on a work laptop that doesn’t have Word. Reading a file should take seconds, not a software install or a sign-up form.
We also didn’t like that many online viewers upload your file to their servers. Documents are often private. Think of CVs, contracts, letters and school work. So we built a viewer that opens the file inside your own browser. Your file never reaches us.

What we don’t do
We don’t store your files. We don’t ask for your name or email to use the tool. We don’t limit how many files you open. The tool is free.
How it works
When you choose a file, a small program runs in your browser. It reads the file on your device and draws each page on your screen. Nothing is sent over the internet. That’s why the tool still works if you turn off your Wi-Fi after the page has loaded.
